Our Story
The West Chester Cooperative’s goal is to open a member-owned, full-service grocery store that advances our mission of promoting the well-being of the people of West Chester. We will foster healthy and mindful eating, improve access to sustainably produced food, support those in need, advance sustainable and humane agriculture, strengthen local farms, and build community through cooperative enterprise.
We are committed to transparency and accountability at every step of the food production and distribution process—from farm to table—so that our community can make informed choices and trust the food they buy.
Our store will be a welcoming place where neighbors and friends connect while enjoying the agricultural abundance of our region. We will work to ensure accessibility for all members of the community.
Rooted in the cooperative principles of care for community and care for the environment, West Chester Cooperative will transform the simple act of shopping into an opportunity to express values, contribute to the community, and build relationships.
